About this Project
YOUNG & ASSOCIATES, PA were selected by the City of Wichita to provide design-engineering services for reconstructing Pawnee Avenue, from Broadway Ave. to Palisade. This section of Pawnee was upgraded to five lanes of concrete pavement with a center turn lane and raised medians. Included in the design were improvements to storm sewers, outfall structures, pedestrian access routes, and landscaping. The resulting design earned the 2007 “Excellence in Paving Design” for best municipal street and intersection (<30,000 SY) from the Kansas/Missouri Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association.
